Zamzam Cafe - Dar Al Tawhid InterContinental Hotel - Makkah Unclaimed

Dar al tawheed has maintained its glorious standard over the years, a big star for their maintenance department. The breakfast location change has not impacted its variety and quality, specifically pleased that my favourite thick cream is as good as it gets. We were served by kamraj with top class promptness and pleasant manners.

I stayed at the intercontinental Dar Tawhid Makkah during my Umrah, and I am extremely disappointed, I am going to state all the good and bad things that I faced : 1- I chose this hotel based on my experience at the intercontinental in other countries which has always been amazing and luxurious, but this unfortunately doesn’t apply on this hotel and also based on the price, as normally when you pay the highest rate among Makkah hotels you would definitely expect a certain level.. when I first arrived for Check in , the employee in the reception wasn’t friendly nor welcoming at all ,his name was Eyad , so as a first impression I felt uncomfortable but then thought it’s okay maybe he was having a bad day , other staff that I dealt with tho were nice and spoke in a way that represents such a well reputed hotel , one of them named Rola. 2- the room unfortunately was not in a good state and looks old that the wood stands , chairs, bed frames and marble countertops have defects, also bathroom accessories are very old and doesn’t suit a 5 star hotel ,and one small towel had a yellow stain ,also my room was smelling humid , then I heard that the hotel is very old ..which explains all, last thing was the shower , it was cold and they had to send a maintenance guy to fix it. ( I am stating the small details too because of the high expectations anyone would have towards the intercontinental) 3- the food in general isn’t good and doesn’t match the price at all, in room food was disappointing and tasteless , however the breakfast open buffet is nice and has more options than in room breakfast, I liked the pancake machine, it makes delicious pancakes, and the restaurant staff were very nice and welcoming. 4- the location of the hotel however is perfect and you are steps away from the Masjid with view on Haram. 5- the bellhops, room service staff and the guys who bring the food to the rooms are very nice and polite may God bless them. I wish the management takes this review seriously and works on some things that can be changed and don’t just take advantage that the location is good but ignore other comfort means.

My stay at this hotel exceeded all expectations! Its prime location near Haram made it incredibly convenient, and the staff, especially Mr. Kasham, went above and beyond to ensure a pleasant experience. Their friendliness and cooperation were truly remarkable. And let's not forget about the breakfast – it was absolutely amazing! I can't recommend it enough to anyone planning a visit.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Dar Al Tawhid Makkah during my Umrah journey. It was the perfect choice for my mum, conveniently located within walking distance to Masjid al-Haram and it was truly an exceptional experience. From the moment I stepped foot into the hotel, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality. The ambiance was gorgeous, exuding a sense of tranquility and comfort.The hotel's attention to detail was evident in every aspect of my stay. The rooms were not only spacious and pleasant but also impeccably clean, ensuring a relaxing environment throughout my visit. The incorporation of the latest technology enhanced the overall convenience and modernity of the room.One of the highlights of my stay was undoubtedly the breakfast experience. The restaurant boasted a remarkable array of dishes from around the world, allowing guests to indulge in a delightful culinary journey. The variety, quality, and presentation of the food were nothing short of exceptional.I must commend the entire staff at the breakfast restaurant , from the manager A. Alzahrani to the chefs, waiters, and cleaners for their outstanding service. Their professionalism, attentiveness, and genuine friendliness truly elevated my stay. It's evident that they take great pride in ensuring that every guest feels valued and well taken care of. In summary, my experience at Dar Al Tawhid Makkah exceeded all expectations, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking a luxurious and memorable stay during their Umrah or any other journey. Thank you to the entire team for making my stay truly unforgettable! Oooh and not to mention that I absolutely loved the innovative pest control method of zapping flies. It was a truly genius idea, and it made for a fly-free environment, adding to the overall comfort of the stay. Plus, it gave a whole new meaning to 'buzz-worthy' amenities 😝 I need to get that zapper for my home 😂

The rooms were not well maintained and full of dust - we had two rooms and both were consistently dusty so the hotel hasn’t maintained it cleanly. However there are two major upsides - 1, the location is fantastic and right in front of the Haram entrance! 2- the staff is very extremely helpful and friendly. We had to take my father in a wheelchair and they were also kind with a helping hand! 5* to a few - attaching pictures with their names so that you can also give them a shout out if you see them
