Description

The first Gontran bakery opened in 2010, and after seeing a lot of success in France, the brand expanded to other countries around the world, including Japan, Taiwan, Australia, and Singapore. 

Today the city of Riyadh finds itself with its very own franchise of the fine bakery, located at the center of The Zone on Takhassusi Street. The bakery, although small, offers its guests a beautiful interior setting with large floor-to-ceiling windows; this brings out maximum natural light whilst also giving a view of the charming outdoor terrace.

The menu takes inspiration from its sister bakery in France - its country of origin. The menu offers a simple yet delectable selection of pastries, coffees, cold beverages, and more.

I ordered some sourdough and baguette bread today through Hungerstation. I really liked their bread, however, I asked the waiter for the bread to be sliced, and to be honest, I thought it will be sliced through a machine/ slicer. But it was done using a knife, so some of the pieces were actually broken, and some were thick. However, they were helpful, and I like the way the bread tasted. The sesame baguette was amazing. And the best part was that the cost of the bread was cheaper than most bakeries in Riyadh. The sourdough bread was for 10 SR, and the sesame baguette costs 9 SR. Definitely will order again. ??

Their buttery croissant was really good. The outer layer of the croissant was crispy and flaky, whereas the inner layers moist and creamy, giving it a good textural contrast. The pistachio kuign amann though was average. Its caramel-like coating on the exterior lacked crunchiness which I'd normally like.

Had breakfast special and it was DELICIOUS!! The Almond Croissants are wonderful! Cinnamon Latte was perfect. The place is clean, bright, cheerful and relaxed. Staff were very helpful and cheerful. Love this place.

This place is ONLY and only okayish to go for a coffee and some good pictures (Because, Ambiance) It took us 20 mins to decide as we have no good option on the menu to order. So we just had a cappuccino. Mojito & desserts was terrible.
