Saudia Airlines has introduced a 96-hour stopover sightseeing visa for passengers flying from Malaga to Riyadh.

This will allow passengers to explore Saudi's iconic attractions during their layover with tailored itineraries, including visits to iconic sites such as Al-Balad in Jeddah and the Unesco World Heritage site of Al-Turaif district in Diriyah.

Saudia Airlines will also launch three weekly direct flights to Malaga this summer, aligning with Saudi's tourism expansion strategy.

The Stopover Visa: How it Works

A fresh approach to air travel in an era where air travel is often seen as a means to an end, Saudia Airlines is challenging this perspective with its innovative 96-hour stopover sightseeing visa. The newly launched stopover visa excludes passengers who book their flights via the Saudia website.

It remains valid for 90 days from the issue date and allows visitors to explore Saudi Arabia for up to 96 hours. The visa processing fee is approximately ten dollars and may include medical insurance, calculated per the applicant's foreign affairs ministry regulations.

It's important to note that the stopover visa permits passengers to stay in Saudi Arabia for up to 96 hours during either the outward or return flight, but not on both occasions. It also allows for the Umrah, the pilgrimage to Mecca, requiring a registration on the Nusuk platform.

Tailored Itineraries

To make the most of their 96-hour stopover, Saudia Airlines has curated itineraries ranging from one day to the full four days. These journeys include visits to iconic sites such as Al-Balad in Jeddah and the Unesco World Heritage site of Al-Turaif district in Diriyah.

Passengers booking with Saudia will also receive a complimentary night's stay, managed during the flight and visa booking process on the airline's website. This thoughtful addition allows passengers to rest and rejuvenate before embarking on their sightseeing adventure.

Expanding Flight Operations

With the launch of the stopover visa, Saudia Airlines is also expanding its flight operations. Starting from 7th June, the airline will operate three direct weekly flights between Malaga and Riyadh.

This increase from their pre-COVID-19 schedule showcases Saudia's optimism and commitment towards the future.
