Huge disappointment.
Big fan of Thai cuisine, and love seeing modern takes on it and really rooting that they succeed in the Kingdom.
I don't know if the menu is usually like this or because it's Ramadan, but it is extremely limited. I'm not talking about the pre-fixed Ramadan menu, but rather their a la carte options.
First, never have I ever been to a Thai restaurant that couldn't accommodate making a chicken pad Thai instead of prawn pad Thai because all their chicken is 'already marinated for other dishes'. And their only other starchy option was also prawn only, prawn fried rice. The manager tried to accommodate but the chef refused. Very poor menu curation.
We ordered 3 dishes:
Deep-fried chicken (dry)
Stir fry beef, their take on kaprow/grapow (decent, fried egg was a great addition)
Dry green curry of beef (awful)
The sauce that came with the fried chicken made it edible. Otherwise it was way too dry.
The green curry beef was totally unenjoyable.. I really wanted to like it, but there was a bitter taste that just over-powered the dish. Could not eat more than 2 pieces. I couldn't get rid of the taste in my mouth fast enough.
The stir fry beef was the only thing I could recommend ordering. But isn't something I would come back for.
Oh and their mocktail, the palm beach swizzle, should just be called a pineapple juice, because that's all I could taste.
The service and ambiance was great. Other than that, don't really have anything positive to say.
