Description

Altopiano is a fine-dining restaurant that specialises in serving Italian cuisine fused with Saudi ingredients wherever possible, yet preserving the authentic Italian taste. The restaurant is located in the Bujairi Terrace in historical Diriyah which makes it the perfect place to reflect this infusion between the two cultures. It has beautiful indoor and outdoor seating with rustic interior design, dim lights, patio heaters which create a warm and cosy ambience. Altopiano has a degustation menu that focuses on the senses and the Italian culinary art, and they take their guests’ feedback into consideration in creating their menu. 


They welcome you with the well-known Italian Bellini cocktail drink which is a symbol of pride in Italy. For starters, you can enjoy the delicate taste of Carpaccio, Burrata, Arancini, and the Insalata Altopiano salad with dates. For the main course, they offer delicious Risotto Bosco, Branzino sea bass, and Bistecca steak. As for desserts, you can enjoy the cloudy dreamy taste of their Tiramisu and Panna Cotta. They are renewing their menu every time so don’t be surprised if you find new items. 


The staff are friendly and welcoming, and the general manager himself, Mr. Stefano, is known to greet guests personally to explain the concept of their menu and the story behind this lovely restaurant. Altopiano is one of The best Italian restaurants in Riyadh. It’s a great place to have an unforgettable Italian dining experience with your family.

Came for Iftar during Ramadan. Thanks for Sharol for the great hospitality. ‼️ However we got a bad experience after the meal, food poisoning. Few comments for improvement: portion was a bit little very and over priced iftar.

great service specially from Ms. Sharon, she was very helpful with a warm welcoming attitude. Food was really good from the Iftar menu but i didn't prefer the pistachio spaghetti. Everything else was awesome and i really appreciate everyone working here. such an amazing experience.

While the atmosphere and service is very nice and welcoming, the food is anything but average. We ordered the Chicken Parmigiano and Penn Arrabiata and the chicken tasted like the frozen chicken patty you would get from a frozen section of the market. The Penn Arrabiata felt like it could've been boiled more, although it was made more flavourful with the addition of extra spice that we requested. Finally, the tiramisu was poor in taste. There was an excess of chocolate powder coating on it, so much so that we started coughing on it. One word comes to mind to describe this dessert..."meh". While the atmosphere is nice, and the servers were quite welcoming, overall wouldn't recommend this place, specially given the prices.

I really enjoyed the whole experience here! Such a great service and atmosphere, and the food was soooo delicious. All thanks to the staff for their great service!
