Diwaniah Restaurant - Elaf Kinda Hotel - Makkah Claim

I am currently staying in the hotel and am due to leave this morning. However, I am unable to order food to my room. I understand it is Ramadan, but in the lifts and elsewhere it says that you can order food to your room 24hrs, but when I called just now, I was told the kitchen is closed. It is quite possible that not every guest is fasting either because they are unwell, have a medical condition or are travellers. As such, it is quite disappointing that (1) there is no possibility of ordering food to our rooms and (2) that no service or options were presented to me except for a 'I'm sorry, the kitchen is closed'. Not the service I would have expected.

After spending the first night here, we found bed bugs in one of the beds! This was so traumatising and disgusting for my sister, and considering this is meant to be 5 star hotel. We were given new rooms and demanded free laundry for the clothes which were used. The key cards are very temperamental - the amount of times we had to go back to get it fixed as it doesn’t open the room doors. One of our doors also didnt shut fully unless we pulled it extra hard. Bell boys there are helpful and friendly. However hotel staff at reception especially the girls are not! They are rude and lack manners, and clearly forget they are in the most holiest place on earth. Breakfast is decent - fresh omelettes are made. Lifts take too long to come as well. Wifi isn’t great - you have to log back in every time you come back to the hotel. The road to hotel is closed during prayer times so we had to walk to the cabs with our luggage and be picked up and dropped off away from hotel. It is near haram but better off choosing somewhere more convenient.

The quality of rooms are not upto the mark, The room’s bathroom lock was not working, The wifi is slow, Called reception and operator quite a few times but no one bothered to answer. Previously it was good but now it has become very frustrating. Next time I’d prefer staying in Makkah Towers instead. I always preferred Elaf Kinda over the other options nearby but this was probably the last time.

Elaf Kinda Hotel Makkah, think twice before booking. No car taxi access to hotel, guest has to carry luggage from far with no help from hotel. Dirty and smelly walkway, corridor. Carpet inside and outside too dirty, need immediate change Guest services, in fact there is no guest services as no one answers the calls. If you need anything you have to go in person to Reception on L floor. Lifts are slow moving and sometimes scary. Room which we got cramp and smallest. Only good things is located very close to Haram.

Very close to haram but impossible to access with a taxi (please be careful of this if you are arriving/leaving with luggage). Rooms are dated and very small. Hotel staff are either non existent or unhelpful with no one being able to understand English fluently. I would not recommend this hotel to my friends or family. Very disappointed with the hotel experience
