Description

Ohayou is a fusion brunch restaurant in Riyadh offering a little bit of everything for everyone. This restaurant is small but cozy and bustling with eager foodies for early morning and afternoon treats. As you enter the restaurant, you will be greeted by staff for seating arrangements. With a modern yet homely feel, this restaurant features accent mirrors along the walls and abstract designs on the ceilings.

As you begin to browse the menu, you will notice a unique mixture of cuisines. This includes Japanese, American, and Arabic, all showcasing signature dishes and flavors. From the traditional American items such as pancakes, French toast, and an egg Benedict all the way to having a Japanese rooted Hawaiian experience with Poke, your taste buds won't be disappointed.

The salmon Poke bowl, in particular, was delicious. This item was served with mixed vegetables and roasted salmon over sushi rice. The Ohayou sliders with beetroot buns were delicious and filled with a really flavorful beetroot spread. Another interesting dish was the 1up omelet. This fluffy egg option comes with sautéed mushrooms and caramelized onions with a side of perfectly toasted bread. Other menu items include watermelon salad, manakeesh, pistachio pancakes, beef tataki, and a slow-roasted brisket sandwich. Their dessert menu also looks very impressive, with items perfect for sharing.

This restaurant can be found in the district of Hittin on Prince Turki Bin Abdulaziz Street.

Food was amazing!!!! My only issue was the time we had to wait for the food to come. We were seated upstairs so we couldn’t find a waiter around, we had to wait every time for someone to come upstairs so we can ask for anything. (The check, extra cutlery…etc.) Will definitely go back for the food though. ??

For a breakfast restaurant, I didn't like its depth and poor lighting. I wish they've chosen a location that allows more sun and perhaps a spacious patio or outdoor area. The food was OK (scrambled eggs and pancakes), but the presentation isn't inviting. For instance, scrambled eggs just came in a bowl without bread or salad on the side, then we had to request for toast which I'm not sure if it should have been served with the order or ordered separately. The acai was very good. Hands down to the best waiter I dealt with in Riyadh in regards to dealing with diners with toddlers. Our waiter asked right away if a high chair is needed and if he should bring the juice in takeaway cups, suggested orders with smaller portions... etc. suitable for toddlers, and finally served the food far from them and brought extra plates and cutlery, all of which are issues we always face in other restaurants! So the service was great! But alas I prefer more open spaces for breakfast.

I ordered the typical avocado with scrambled eggs, it was very tasty. The french vanilla Frappuccino wasn’t the best at all, very blended it melted right away. The classic french toast crusts were very sweet and tasted like dry caramel, the middle parts were good though. The service was great and the food came in quickly.

Not worth the hype. Typical avocado is typical, just put on top avocado and tasteless and it’s their best seller. Their best seller French toast ain’t even up to the French toast, chunk of bread with hard layer of sugar outside and plain bread inside.. they put only half strawberry that was cut into quarters. The waiting took forever although it’s not that crowded. Cappuccino was average.

We went for breakfast, had the eggs Benedict, French toast, iced late and tea. The food and coffee were both great! Coffee is not to acidic and they have different fat content milk options. General atmosphere is great. Price is kinda mid range - expensive depending on what you get. We were in and out in under an hour. Service is not slow at all. If you’re into breakfast this place is a MUST try. 10/10 would recommend. It’s best if you check with Requeue before you arrive - as it sometimes has a wait since the place is not that big. Parking is dreadful so take that into account- if you find parking before them park and walk. If I could I would deduct half a star for parking, but since I can’t do that they get a 5 for the food and dining experience.
