Hilton has revealed its plans to quadruple its presence in Saudi Arabia significantly, with more than 60 new hotels in key tourist destinations.

The expansion includes the newly opened Hotel Galleria Jeddah under their Curio Collection with future developments, such as The Hilton Riyadh Olaya, and three properties in Ahsa, in collaboration with the PIF-owned Dan Company. 

This expansion is expected to generate around 10,000 job opportunities and add 55,000 hotel rooms throughout the kingdom, aligning with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 objectives to attract 150 million visitors annually.

Hilton's expansion plan in Saudi Arabia is set to create almost 10,000 jobs in the country, contributing significantly to the local economy. The company will introduce more of its award-winning brands in new tourism destinations, large-scale developments, and major cities across the Kingdom.

The company's President & CEO, Chris Nassetta, highlighted the company's commitment to growth in Saudi Arabia. He emphasized that Hilton has operated in the Kingdom for almost 30 years, building strong relationships that have driven its expansion plans into more destinations.

Hotel Developments in the Expansion Plan

The Hotel Galleria Jeddah, Curio Collection by Hilton

Hilton marked the debut of its Curio Collection in Saudi Arabia with the opening of The Hotel Galleria Jeddah. Inspired by the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan, this lifestyle property offers guests 363 stylish rooms and suites, bespoke amenities, and world-class dining options. 

Located in the heart of Prince Mohamed bin Abdul-Aziz Street, Jeddah, the hotel elevates the guest experience with a focus on leisure and recreation.

Hampton by Hilton Sharma

Chris Nassetta visited Hampton by Hilton Sharma to celebrate the hotel’s upcoming opening, marking the debut of the first Hampton by Hilton in Saudi Arabia. The 201-guest room property aims to provide guests with a seamless stay experience, offering thoughtfully designed rooms and reliable service. 

The hotel is conveniently located within 20 minutes of NEOM Bay Airport and two hours from the main regional airport in Tabuk.

Hilton Riyadh Olaya

Hilton Riyadh Olaya is set to open in March 2024, offering guests 239 contemporary guest rooms and suites. The hotel will feature diverse dining options and a range of amenities, including a spa, an indoor pool, and a fitness center.

In 2022, Hilton signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Tourism Development Fund. This agreement will leverage Hilton's knowledge and expertise in creating family-friendly leisure destinations across several Saudi locations. 

These destinations will feature brands including Hilton Hotels & Resorts, Canopy by Hilton, and Motto by Hilton.

Additionally, Hilton announced the signing of Waldorf Astoria Diriyah Gate, which joins Wadi Hanifah and LXR Hotels & Resorts – also under development at the giga-project. 

Other exciting hotels under development in Saudi Arabia include Conrad Riyadh Laysen Valley, Canopy by Hilton Porta Jeddah, and Hilton The Point Residences and Canopy by Hilton The Point in Abha.

Hilton Airport Hotel in Dammam

The Hilton brand is expanding in Saudi Arabia with the recent announcement of the opening of its first Airport Hotel in Dammam, called The Hilton Dammam Airport. 

This luxurious hotel will be the first of its kind in the country, setting a new benchmark for convenience and opulence. It features 273 elegant guest rooms, including a junior suite, catering to the needs of all kinds of travelers. 

The guest rooms are contemporary, providing a delightful and trendy stay. Furthermore, the hotel offers direct access to the terminal building of King Fahd International Airport through a skywalk.

Heritage Hotels in Jeddah

The Jeddah Historic District Program and the Al Balad Development Company have partnered to manage the management of Heritage Hotels in the Jeddah Historic District, also known as Al Balad

This district was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2014 and currently boasts over 600 historic buildings. 

With funding from the Saudi Ministry of Culture, this collaboration aims to renovate 34 heritage houses into hotels, allowing visitors to fully experience the cultural significance and magnificence of the Jeddah Historic District.

Jumeirah Jabal Omar Makkah

The Jumeirah Jabal Omar Hotel in the Holy City of Makkah marks the first Saudi Arabian hotel for Dubai's Jumeirah Hotel group.

 Located near the Grand Mosque, Al Masjid Al Haram, in the central area of Jabal Omar, the hotel is part of the second phase of the Jabal Omar development.

It features more than 1000 rooms and suites, some offering direct views of the haram, the hotel is dedicated to offering unforgettable experiences for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims.

Marriott’s Expansion Across Saudi Arabia

Marriott International has revealed its expansion strategy in Saudi Arabia, which involves developing 40 hotels with a combined 11,000 rooms. This growth will also establish the company's footing in prestigious locations such as NEOM and The Red Sea Project

The expansion will encompass a variety of high-end brands, including the recently opened St. Regis Red Sea Resort, Autograph Collection, and The Ritz-Carlton Al Khobar, as well as introducing new hotel brands in the Holy Cities of Makkah and Madinah.

Sindalah Island, the first destination under NEOM, is set to welcome guests with an array of luxury hotels. The Luxury Collection from the Marriott brand is establishing twin hotels, boasting 70 plush rooms, suites, private pool villas, and 115 luxury suites. 

These properties, scheduled to open in 2024, promise diverse culinary experiences and recreational amenities.

Marriott International, Inc. has announced partnering with NEOM to launch two high-end establishments in Trojena, a mountain getaway in the north-western part of Saudi Arabia. This collaboration comprises the country's inaugural W Hotel and a JW Marriott establishment.

W Hotel Trojena

W Hotel Trojena, located in the diverse Lake Village, promises stunning views of the surrounding mountains and freshwater lake. The hotel will house 236 guest rooms and 47 suites and offer four unique dining destinations.

The Lake Village is set to house a 2.8-kilometer-wide architectural lake, a magical woodland, and water-edge thrill-filled pursuits, promising a variety of experiences for both inhabitants and tourists.

JW Marriott Hotel

The futuristic water world located within The Bow in Trojena, known as the JW Marriott Hotel, will seamlessly merge nature with technology. This innovative hotel will offer 500 luxurious rooms and suites and a range of entertainment and recreational options. 

By introducing the first W Hotel and JW Marriott in Trojena, Saudi Arabia, Marriott International is constantly redefining the standards for luxury hospitality.

Ritz-Carlton Diriyah

The luxurious five-star Ritz-Carlton Diriyah hotel is set to open in Diriyah in 2026 as a component of the $63 Billion Diriyah Giga Project. 

Marriott International has commenced construction on the hotel, which will boast 195 guest rooms, 34 high-end suites, and a range of amenities, including fine dining options, outdoor pools, and a fitness center.

IHG Hotel

Voco Makkah

The premium brand of IHG Hotels & Resorts, Voco Makkah, has been introduced in Makkah to cater to the needs of religious travelers visiting during the Hajj or Umrah seasons. 

With a total of 4,321 rooms, Voco Makkah is the biggest hotel under the Voco brand globally and the third property in Saudi Arabia. This move aims to offer exceptional service to pilgrims in Makkah.

IHG’s Hotel Indigo Oxagon

A Hotel Indigo property with 250 rooms is set to open in Oxagon, Saudi Arabia, providing a range of unique retail and dining options. Both locals and tourists will have access to a variety of recreational and health amenities, such as a spa and a 24-hour fitness center.

IHG Hotels in Taif

 IHG Hotels & Resorts, in collaboration with Al Jumeirah Group, will launch two new properties, Holiday Inn & Suites, and Staybridge Suites, in the scenic mountain city of Taif in Makkah Province. This partnership is expected to increase their total number of rooms by 280.

Six Senses Southern Dunes

The Red Sea Giga Project welcomes its first official hotel, Six Senses Southern Dunes. This stunning resort boasts 36 guest rooms and 40 pool villas, all set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Majestic Arabian Desert and Hijaz Mountains, combining visionary tourism, sustainability, and heritage.

Six Senses AIUIa

Six Senses and Al Ula Development Company, in a joint agreement, will establish a lavish Six Senses AIUIa hotel spanning 1.2 million square meters in Al Ula. 

The hotel is scheduled to open in 2027 and will be situated in a serene oasis enveloped by verdant palm groves and striking red sandstone cliffs. It will offer 100 guest villas and 25 residential units.

Six Senses Wadi Safar

The prestigious Wadi Safar project in Diriyah will soon see the opening of the new Six Senses Wadi Safar hotel. Situated on a hilltop, this hotel will provide guests with breathtaking views of the valley. 

Spanning 49 acres within the secure Wadi Safar Community, also referred to as the "Bel Air" of Saudi Arabia, the hotel will offer a unique and luxurious experience that blends the area's cultural heritage with contemporary amenities.

The Rotana Group Hotels

During the Saudi Tourism Forum held in Riyadh, the Rotana Hotel Group revealed its intention to increase its presence in Saudi Arabia by introducing 8 new hotels over the next four years. 

This move will result in a total of 16 properties and 4,400 guest rooms in the Kingdom. The expansion strategy includes the construction of new hotels in Riyadh, Madinah, Khobar, and Al Baha, which aim to elevate the standards of luxury hospitality and support Saudi Arabia's goal of becoming a top international tourist destination.
