Description

Located in Al Jubail mountain around 30 kilometers southeast of Riyadh, Heet cave is famous for two things in particular: its limestone formations and its crystal clear waters that make it an ideal for adventurers and explorers.

The underground lake in the heart of the cave is more than 30 meters deep. The water level used to be much higher in the past which made it an easy water supply for travelers and passers-by. The cave also has a number of sinkholes, which serve as the entrance to water reservoirs underneath the surface of the cave.

Inside the Cave

To get to the Heet Cave you have to go through the scorching heat of the desert, but the moment you enter the cave you will forget that you are in one of the hottest parts of Riyadh because of the cooling effect created by the limestone walls and the lake.

The cave’s limestone walls, coupled with crystal clear water, make for an enchanting sight that one has to see to believe. All of these things come together to make Heet Cave an amazing place for nature lovers and explorers.

Cool scenic place for a little hiking. Easy to find with Google maps, just follow the dirt trail and park by the abandoned building. Hike down is about 5-10 minutes and wear closed toed shoes. Great for taking some pictures.
