Mado -Makkah - Jabal Omar - مادو Claim

Having spent the weekend in Turkey and being completely ripped off by anyone and everyone in Istanbul, from the Turkish taxi drivers to the businesses, I came for Umrah and just curiously walked in here to see what ridiculous prices they charge. As you can see, 69SAR for a slice of cheesecake! Not sure what makes these businesses think they can charge extortionate prices for their food. Yes the Turkish Lira is suffering and the economy has gone down and inflation has been high recently but coming down, but yet I don't see other businesses charging such ludicrous prices and ripping people off. Save your money and for a similar price buy nearly 3 large tastier milk cakes from B Labaan or a whole cheesecake that's more fresh and tastier than this, and cheaper from the local supermarket or bakeries! Nothing special about this San Sebastian cheesecake or this place.

Think twice before spending your money here. I’ve been to many Mado restaurants in Dubai and Istanbul, and this is the worst. Firstly, my ice cream was served with a piece of plastic inside. Secondly, our ice cream were served in different ways even though we ordered the same ice cream cones. When I asked them why they served it differently, all they said was “same same” and forced us to accept it and refused to change it. See my picture (one ice cream was served properly in a cone, and the other was served in a plate with the cone on top of it making it difficult to eat.) Thirdly, they charged us for additional items which we did not order. When we flagged this error out to the waiters, they were hesitant to revise the bill and seemed like they did not believe us despite us showing them evidence that we did not receive the items that they had billed us. Fourthly, they made us wait at least 15 minutes just to get the bill revised. And they gave an excuse saying “it’s difficult to change the bill in the system”. Fifthly, very rude staff who can only give excuses without actually caring for their customers. Avoid coming here and spend your money elsewhere. You should send your waiters for some service training.

Here at Mado .. no one is coming to clean the table .. since 30 min. This is beyond pathetic

Worst experience at a restaurant in my entire life , the service was awful and the staff was really disrespectful . I don't recommend at all . I have never seen something like that ever . We waited almost 2 hours to place an order and another 40 min before being served . The only moment were the staff paid attention to us is when we asked for the bill . They have no consideration and no respect and they are racist . One of the staff member clearly said ro us that he only talks to turkish people . Since we are not turkish he didn't even took our order .

It took them half an hour and our constant calls to clean our table and take an order. And after waiting for another 30 minutes it turns out they forgot to put our order in the system. When I asked if they could expedite our order so we don’t wait another 30 minutes they said no, we’ll have to wait, so we left. I also noticed there were frustrated people on other tables as well.
