Located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Wadi Laban Dam is a park still under construction with ongoing dredging and a corniche under construction. The entire landscape is covered with greenery, parks, and a garden. If you stand on the edge, you can enjoy a nice view of the hills and lake, making for a beautiful sight. After the rainy season, the dam stays filled with water for some time, and that is an ideal time to visit and enjoy the scenery.
Activities on the Dam
The dam is a favorite spot for many bikers. On weekends, the place is crowded with families and people riding bikes on the biking trails. Families like to come here and have a picnic and are often seen enjoying a campfire or a barbeque. Other than that, people are seen jogging and strolling peacefully on the walkways on the northern side of the dam. Moreover, the views during sunset and sunrise are worth seeing because of the sunlight reflecting on the water.
Suggestions
The ground in the area can be muddy at times; visitors should wear appropriate shoes and take bug repellants with them because of the mosquitoes in the evening. Although the place is safe, parents should be mindful as it is dangerous for children to go near the dam when it is filled with water. However, there is no real need to worry; the control team always keeps a close eye on everything and never lets anyone get into danger.
