Joan’s on Third  is a specialty food marketplace and restaurant located in the newly opened luxurious dining destination, Via Riyadh. Joan’s on Third was founded by Joan McNamara who helped develop the food culture of LA. It has an on-site marketplace and a gift shop with a selection of gourmet food, including baked goods and pantry products. The restaurant consists of beautiful indoor seating. 

Their menu offers a wide selection of delicious gourmet food such as salads, sandwiches, bakery, cakes, desserts, hot and cold beverages, ice creams and specialty coffee. The place is spacious and neat. The atmosphere is so nice . We just had coffee and sweets here but sure I’ll visit again.

Dining early on a weeknight was nice as they were not too busy. The atmosphere was welcoming, with a comfortable dining area, and the staff were all friendly and attentive. The soup of the day was butternut squash and carrot, and it was served with croutons and a lemon slice. The lemon balanced the rich, well seasoned soup nicely. The short rib sandwich was served with house made pickles, both of which were delicious. The lemon bar is a tart and delicious dessert, but the crust was very sweet, so I’d recommend having it with an unsweetened beverage such as black coffee. I’d definitely recommend this as a great dining experience.

We went there on a Tuesday early evening and we were a party of four. Very friendly staff and the seating is specious and comfortable. The display of dessert is nice. The maple chicken sandwich was good. The mac and cheese was ok. I’d visit again to try more of their desserts and sandwiches.
