Location
To the south of the city of Riyadh in Saudi Arabia lies the Lake Park Namar Dam. It is named so because of its two-kilometer-long Namar Valley dam, which is about 20 meters deep and has an area of 200,000 square meters. It is one of the most famous new tourist attractions of Riyadh.
Major attractions
There are many features of Lake Park Namar Dam that make it popular among locals and tourists alike. Some of these include the industrial lake, a spectacular artificial waterfall, a corniche, and many tourist services.
You will see many people cycling, walking, or jogging on the paved track along the edges of the lake or admiring the marine life in the lake, including fish and ducks.
It is popular among locals as a picnic and barbeque spot, especially on Eid holidays. However, even on normal days, the place is quite crowded and has a very lively and fun vibe. The best time to visit is during the spring season, when the park is filled with greenery. Make sure that you get there around an hour before sunset, so you can find yourself a good picnic spot as it tends to get very crowded, and all the good picnic spots will already be taken.
