Description

Located on the west coast of the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in Jeddah, King Fahad’s Fountain is so named because it was donated to the city of Jeddah by King Fahad. Constructed between 1980 to 1983 and opened to the public in 1985, King Fahad’s Fountain is the tallest of its kind in the world, with a maximum water height of 853 ft which is taller than the Eiffel Tower (without the antenna).

Design

Visible from across the city of Jeddah, King Fahad’s Fountain can eject a total of 16 tons of water in their air every day at a speed of 375 km/h. The fountain looks the best after nightfall when it is illuminated by over 500 lights built into the fountain's design. The water changes colors as it soars skywards against the night sky and makes for a mesmerizing sight that one has to see to believe.

Best time to visit

If you can get there just before sunset you can easily find a good vantage point because most tourists get there after sunset. Plus you will be able to enjoy the view of the setting sun, shining over the sea as tiny water droplets from the fountain caress your skin and create a relaxing and soothing effect.

Afterward, you can take a detour across the road to the Ritz Carlton Hotel street where food stalls, cafés, and restaurants serve some of the best coffee, sandwiches, and pastries in the city.

This 853-foot fountain is reputed to be the tallest fountain in the world, and is best appreciated when illuminated at night. ... While standing in the Cornish, look up high and you will find the perfect view of your stay at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel. This hotel is one of 13 hotels in the Cornish area with a view of King Fahd Fountain. You can experience relaxation and recreation within the famous Hyatt Park Resort with its unique view of the fountain.

Massive park with lush green ground and picturesque views of the world,s tallest fountain in lake of jeddah beach at the beach end of palastine street. Paid washrooms are available in vicinity. Various shops are open for easy access to drinks and snacks. Worth visiting place in jeddah. Weather is pleasant from 5 pm till night during winter months and morning breeze is heart touching throughout year.

Better handout places for kids and family and also for jogging & walking strolls, photography and scenic places are also available, but no washrooms and toilets are available and it's locked ?? i don't understand what's the purpose of it then, basic facilities and services should improved, eateries and food court must be needed to build, and the other leisure activities like kite ? flying, cycling tracks , skateboard park ?️ small area for kids etc should be needed, music ?? system or radio ?? system with important messages and news should needs in the lighting post's, other activities like yoga & meditation should be implemented to promote health care & fitness etc should have to made for attraction and activities.
