Description

Rusafa is a Shamy (Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, Jordan) type restaurant located within the Jazz Lounge, near Saha Mall and King Fahd Hospital. It offers a varied choice of dishes including starters such as hummus, mutabbal or baba ghanouj, salads (tabula, fatoush ...) and of course grilled meats and fatiras (pie). The dishes offered will delight more than one as they are fairly large portions.

The restaurant has a large family corner on the ground floor with a magnificent cozy room and an outdoor area with the most beautiful decor. The decoration is really one of the strengths of this restaurant. The singles room is on the first floor, although it is less attractive, it still has the merit of being outdoors.

I walked into theirs for the first time to try their Suhur, I was held by a hospitable gentleman who introduced himself as Babar. “I’m an outsider, just wanting to see what’s on the menu,” I said to him hurriedly. “Become an insider now and join us,” Babar said jokingly. He invited me to explore the buffet and insisted on trying it by giving me a deal that I couldn’t refuse! As someone who understands food, I can say that it was made with love. Every bite has a different story to tell; I enjoyed every delicious moment. I then concluded my journey with a taste of their Kanafeh, a traditional, Middle Eastern dessert. I’m confident that my tastebuds will be forever indebted — what a sweet, light cloudy Kanafeh it was! The result was an explosion of salty, spicy, sweet, and sour flavors that sparkle with personality yet all harmonized on the plates, a blast of taste indeed. “You should join us for Iftar; it’s much more colorful than today’s.” He concluded with a smile. I did, twice!

In case you are planning to come for Umrah or Visit Medina, Arabesque Restaurant is a must try. It's no. 1 ranked restaurant of the city and also its contemporary design mixed with eastern hospitality make it one unique platform for all different kind of foodies. Recently new executive chef has revitalized the entire concept with some new stations. Price is little high but worth it. It's located in Shaza Al Madinah Hotel, next to haram gate 21.
