I'm american, but I speak indonesian and some tagalog. I didn't see or hear any indonesian spoken inside, and they couldn't understand me. I could clearly hear tagalog/bisaya from the chefs. So it wasn't a good sign for authenticity. Service was friendly enough. Just slow with many orders but no issues. Restaurant only had 1 table downstairs. And construction noises were very loud from upstairs. So I just got it to go. The beef rendang tasted authentic. And was pretty good. I think that was why the order took so long. The MI goreng and nasi goreng had absolutely zero indonesian flavors at all. They were clearly american style Chinese food with all soy sauce and MSG. Which is totally fine if I want an american Chinese place to coat my stomach with grease before drinking like most of us do. But it was absolutely 100% not indonesian. They also gave us a chili sauce. And from the smell nevermind the taste it was clearly tex-mex salsa. Again zero indonesian influence.
So really if you like american style Chinese food, be my guest. Not the highest quality, but it was OK. I would eat it again if I wanted Chinese. But if you want indonesian food then I can only really recommend the the beef rendang. It was pretty decent and the correct indonian spices were used.
So overall I give them a 3. Not bad, but not indonesian.
