The most recent drone footage of NEOM in Saudi Arabia shows impressive progress on the $1 trillion gigaproject.

NEOM's Chief Operating Officer, Giles Pendleton, shared the footage showcasing remarkable progress on several projects including The Line, Oxagon, and Sindalah Island.

The Line, with a length of 170km and height of 500m, is designed to accommodate 9 million individuals on completion.

Oxagon will serve as a logistics port of the future, while the luxury Sindalah Island will include three exclusive resorts with a total of 413 rooms and 88 villas spread across 840,000 square meters.

Developments: The LINE, Sindalah, and Oxagon

The latest images posted by Pendleton emphasize the immense size and progress of NEOM's initiatives. They serve as concrete evidence of the extensive excavations and cutting-edge island resorts, effectively disproving doubts about the advancement of these ambitious undertakings.

The Line: The Future of Urban Living

The Line is undoubtedly one of the most ambitious aspects of the NEOM project. This 170 km long, 500 meter tall linear city is designed to host up to 9 million residents on completion.

It is planned so that residents will be able to access all daily essentials within a 5 minute walk and traverse The Line end-to-end in 20 minutes on a high speed rail line.

The Line is being constructed with a vertically layered design that segregates living, working, and leisure functions.

The Line: Construction Progress

The ongoing construction of The Line is nothing short of monumental. The drone footage reveals extensive excavation work, with earth-moving equipment digging wide trenches in the desert landscape. Massive lorries are seen transporting rocks and sand, hinting at the impressive scale of the project.

Sindalah Island: Luxury Redefined

Sindalah Island takes luxury to a whole new level. The island, covering around 840,000 square meters, is designed to be a haven for high-end resorts, golf courses, marinas and luxury experiences.

Sindalah Island: Construction Progress

The construction on Sindalah Island is progressing at a swift pace, too. The island is set to feature three large hotels, providing 413 rooms and 88 villas. In addition, it will house several golf courses, a yacht club, and more than 50 luxury brands.

The first guests are expected to experience the exclusive offerings of Sindalah Island as early as 2024. This major Red Sea gateway promises to offer bespoke nautical experiences and contribute significantly to tourism, hospitality, and leisure jobs.

Expected to welcome guests in 2024, these establishments are designed to provide distinctive and transformative experiences deeply ingrained in the essence of the destination.

The first property, a beach resort, will feature 70 opulent rooms and suites, including exclusive one-, two-, three-, and four-bedroom villas, each complete with private pools.

The second project by Marriott, also slated for a 2024 debut, will be an all-suite hotel boasting 115 lavish one-, two-, and three-bedroom suites.

This hotel will be strategically positioned in the lively retail and marina district of Sindalah. Both properties falling under The Luxury Collection umbrella will offer an array of dining choices and recreational amenities.

Oxagon: Port of the Future

Oxagon is envisioned as a next-generation port and logistics hub. This fully sustainable, zero-carbon city includes the world's first integrated port and supply chain ecosystem.

Oxagon: Construction Progress

The construction of Oxagon is also progressing at an impressive pace. The drone footage reveals the port's distinctive shape, partly on land and partly on a large floating structure extending into the sea.

Oxagon will be a crucial connection point for ships traveling through the Suez Canal. Apart from port facilities, the development will also contain a cruise terminal and an oceanographic research center.

Oxagon is expected to generate approximately 90,000 jobs by 2030, making it a significant contributor to Saudi Arabia's economic growth and diversity.

More than merely a construction endeavor, the House Residence at Oxagon in NEOM symbolizes a steadfast commitment to reshaping living environments, nurturing dynamic communities, and revolutionizing human encounters.

Addressing Skepticism

Pendleton's drone images serve as a strong response to those who doubt the advancements of NEOM's initiatives. These images display the extensive construction site, which spans from the mountains to the sea.

As Pendleton puts it, "How can one refute the critics when presented with a panoramic view of the world's biggest building site, stretching from the mountains to the sea?"

Exciting Future with NEOM

The drone footage offers an exciting glimpse into the progress of three significant components of the NEOM project.

The Line, Sindalah Island, and Oxagon each represent a unique vision for the future, and their rapid construction is a testament to the ambition and determination driving this project. As the world watches, the NEOM project redefines urban planning, luxury, and sustainability boundaries.
