Description

If you are visiting Al-Baha, The Ain Ancient Village is worth a visit. The village of Thee Ainor Zee Ain is a heritage site in Saudi Arabia located in the Al-Mikhwat province of the Al-Baha Region. The remains of this civilization date back to the 16th century and have been characterized by the multi-storey houses that have been built with polished stones.

Sightseeing

The village is famous for its agricultural crops such as bananas, lemon, basil, and palm trees, and has a scenic river too. The best part about this historical place is that there is no entry fee and visitors can roam around and go back in time while exploring the ancient streets. Visitors can wander into the abandoned houses and take pictures without any worries as the place is not crowded. The houses are proof of the stunning architecture that existed even hundreds of years ago. There is also a farm called The Ain Garden at walking distance which is shaped like an eye. After the village tour, you can go to the farm and freshen up.

Tour Planning and Facilities

The village opens for tourists from 7am to 6 pm. Because there is a lot of walking and climbing involved, it is best to visit either in the winter or in the evening hours during the summer when the weather is not too hot. While restrooms and parking areas are available in the area, there are no shops, which is why it is best to take water and snacks along with you. There is also a park and seating area nearby, so families with children can rest easily.

Wonderful Historical place, one of the best ancient buildings you can visit in Al Baha KSA, you need to be fresh and energetic to go there as there were so many stairs and upward track if you want to cover atleast 30% of this place, plus you can find small water stream at the back of the village.

Must visit place ., it’s a 30 mins drive down the hill from Baha city ., Toilet facility for Men & Women available., Front side you will see the fort/castle with Bats inside the castle (take little caution while taking steps inside the dark rooms) & to the right down u need to witness the water flow / banana farm / quartz stone & greenery view .,, must visit for individuals & family + kids. Also u can take (a free of cost) 360 degree video ., which will be shared with you by the organizers in Airdrop., Climbing top of the fort / castle is not possible with family (in my opinion only) & for sure., it takes immense time to climb the top . (Which I failed to do / becoz of time constraints) Come early and plan accordingly

What is the best time of day for taking photographs of the village? The sunlight must be facing the front of the village. The sun must not be behind it or the images will look too dark. What time of day would that be?
