Sparhawk Arch -Rock Formation - Al Ula

4.7Reviews

Description

The historical landmark and popular tourist attraction of Sparhawk Arch in Al Ula is located in the Madinah Province, Saudi Arabia, and is one of Al Ula's many geological marvels that attract tourists from all around the world.

It lies near Elephant Rock, which is another famous natural formation in the area. For transit, tourists can board a bus from the Al Ula Saptco bus station, which is located 17 km from the site. However, the bus doesn't take tourists all the way to the site; they have to walk on foot for about 20 minutes to get there.

Attractions and Landscape

The beauty of Sparhawk Arch is unparalleled, and it seems like a doorway into another world. Surrounded by golden sand dunes covered with rocky outcrops, most of which have interesting shapes and figures and are even more impressive in size, it is majestically perched on the top of rock formations.

The arch is clearly visible from below, so visitors can take pictures even without climbing to the top. If you plan on climbing towards the arch to find a better view, you need to be very careful because the climb is quite steep and slippery.

Accommodation

Sahary Al Ula, a luxurious resort, is just a 10-minute drive away from Sparhawk Arch; therefore, tourists do not have to worry about accommodation while they explore the natural wonders in the desert.

About 20mn walk from Elephant rock by following the road toward Sahary camp. There is another arch 15mn walk across the road from Elephant rock that is shaped like a perfume bottle.
