Al Wajh is a city situated on the coast of the Red Sea and is known for its pristine beaches. The city is one and a half day’s drive from Al Ula and Hegra and is one of the largest cities in the Tabuk region. Al Wajh also played a major role during the Arab Revolt in the First World War.
Attractions in the City
As you visit the city, you will be able to savor fresh seafood as fishing is a primary activity in this area for many locals and tourists. The fish is then eaten in the traditional Arab way, where everyone sits on the floor cushions cross-legged.
The city has numerous mosques, all of which are distinguished by their stunning architecture. Inside the city, there is also a fort called Al Wajh Castle, which was built in the 1870s. The castle was used as a fortification to protect Tabuk and later as government headquarters. Today the castle has been fully restored and turned into a museum that features the town’s history. From the top floor of the museum, visitors can also enjoy a stunning view of the port.
With its pristine coastline, Al Wajh’s beachside parks are the number one attraction for parents as they can come here to unwind while their children can have fun. There is also the Al Wajh Corniche Park on the coast, which has different picnic spots. Other than that, people can go for a quick swim at Al Hashrah Beach.
