Saudi Arabia has unveiled plans for the new Prince Muhammad Bin Salman Stadium which is to be located in the new Qiddiya Entertainment City near Riyadh.

The state of the art 45,000 seater stadium is to be located in the Tuwaiq mountains on top of a dramatic 200-meter cliff and serve as the new home grounds for Riyadh’s most popular Saudi Pro League clubs, Al Nassr and Al Hilal. 

The multi-use-venue is also anticipated for some of the popular sporting events in the Kingdom such as the Saudi Cup, The Asian Cup, and potentially also the FIFA 2034 World Cup.

Qiddiya City: A Visionary Destination

Qiddiya City, elegantly perched atop the picturesque 200-meter-high Tuwaiq cliff and a short 40-minute drive from Riyadh, epitomizes the 'Power of Play'. The upcoming stadium, a masterpiece designed by the esteemed architectural firm Populous, aims to revolutionize the traditional stadium experience.

The design incorporates a retractable roof, pitch, and LED wall, a first in the world. This innovative feature enables the venue to shift 'event modes' swiftly, making it an incredibly adaptable space. Guests can expect a variety of spectacles, including football, boxing, esports, concerts, and theatre performances.

The Stadium: A Technological Marvel

The stadium will boast cutting-edge technology to enhance the spectators' experience. From real-time access to live data and statistics to holographic technology facilitating virtual interactions with celebrities, the venue will offer a unique experience.

When inactive, the LED wall will reveal stunning views of Qiddiya City, further accentuating the stadium's immersive design. It's not just about the events; it's about the complete experience that starts right when one steps into the city premises.

Accessibility and Convenience

The stadium won't just be an isolated structure; it will be an integral part of an urban entertainment district. Visitors will have direct and hassle-free access to Qiddiya City’s vibrant Gaming & Esport District along with other entertainment options.

With an array of transportation choices, including park ’n ride and drop-off zones, the stadium also enjoys proximity to a plethora of shopping, dining, and entertainment spaces as well as hotel options.

A Platform for Global Events

With a seating capacity of 45,000, the stadium is all set to become the home ground of Saudi Pro League football clubs Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr. It is even proposed to be one of the venues for the Kingdom’s 2034 FIFA World Cup bid.

The stadium is equipped to host events around the year, thanks to its climate-controlled facilities. An eco-friendly cooling lake built directly under the stadium will utilize rainwater captured from the stadium and the surrounding area, demonstrating a commitment to sustainable practices.

Vision 2030: A Vibrant Society

The stadium aligns with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, which aims for a vibrant society, a thriving economy, and an ambitious nation. The venue is expected to draw an estimated 7.6 million annual visits, boosting tourism and creating jobs.

Qiddiya City: Global  Entertainment Hub

Qiddiya City aims to attract about 48 million visits per year. It will feature a gaming and e-sports district designed to become a global competition hub. The city will include a speed park, golf courses, a multipurpose stadium, a water theme park, and Six Flags Qiddiya.

The Qiddiya Giga Project has awarded contracts worth over $2.6 Billion so far for the development of Qiddiya City with the aim of creating a Global Entertainment and Sports Hub in the Kingdom.

Qiddiya is to be located on the outskirts of Riyadh and feature 60,000 buildings, including golf courses, stadiums, and the Six Flags Qiddiya Theme Park, with the aim of attracting 40 million tourists a year and contributing $36 Billion a year to GDP.

The World's Fastest Roller Coaster

The Falcon’s Flight roller coaster,  the world’s fastest, longest, and tallest roller coaster, is the signature attraction at Six Flags Qiddiya. It was unveiled by global rollercoaster specialist, designer, and manufacturer Intamin at the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions Expo in Orlando, Florida.

The rollercoaster aims to break world records with a speed of 250 kmph and a drop of 640 feet.
