Wadi Al Jinn (Baida) - Madinah Province

4.7Reviews

Description

Located in Al Baida, Wadi al Jinn is one of the strangest and most fascinating valleys in Saudi Arabia. Situated around 24 Km northwest of Madinah, this valley is truly a mysterious place. On your way to the valley, you will reach a point where you can put your car in neutral, and it will start moving uphill. The car slowly picks up speed and can go up to 120km/h while going uphill for about 12-13 km.

There are tons of theories as to why the car moves uphill without any apparent external force. Some suggest that the valley is inhabited by supernatural beings called Jins; others try to explain it through science and suggest that it is merely an optical illusion.

Attractions

The valley itself attracts a lot of tourists. Some tourists set up tents and stay here for a few days. One of the biggest attractions here is quad biking. People love speeding through the dusty tracks on their quad bikes. Many people who are interested in astronomy also come here for star gazing as it provides great views of the stars after nightfall. Moreover, the peaceful and fresh atmosphere of the valley is second to none, which is why many families come here to have picnics on the weekends.

Wadi Al-Baida, also called Wadi Al-Jinn, is a mysterious valley where cars move without drivers touching them. The valley is situated some 30 km northwest of Madinah. It draws the attention of thousands of locals and visitors from around the Kingdom and abroad. Many city dwellers travel to this natural park and erect tents for a few days, especially during the weekend.

A very peculiar area. It's a slim road that suddenly goes pitch black....When you get to the end...turn around and face the other way...shift your gear to neutral (N)... Hold on to the steering wheel... watch as your car accelerates to 100 km/h and then fixes itself on that speed no matter whether the road is inclining or declining... Take care because there are speed cameras set to 80 km/h to catch cars on their way back while the jinn drive them out of the place and its pitch black so they're difficult to see... Make sure your car has a full tank because there are no service as soon as you enter "the dark zone" and you don't want to stop in a place like that...locals have fires going to serve and cafes with rental quad bikes near the end of the road when you exit the dark area as a rest house before turning back... The phenomenon with the cars only happens in the dark zone so don't try from the cafe area... You can also go to a downhill area in the dark zone and pour water down a surface... The water will start moving upwards against the laws of physics instead of down the slope...

Visited in Dec 20. Experienced the magic of Almighty Allah. Switch off your car. Put in neutral and leave it it will move on its own and will go up to 120 speed. Do experience it yourselves if you haven't until.now.
