The hotel is clean and the staff are pleasant. However, it’s not what you expect from a five star hotel, the furniture in the rooms is dated and old.
More importantly, the disappointing breakfast experience. The place was busy as expected but the staff were less than equipped. After I finally located an empty table, I asked one of the staff to clean it, he proceeded to use a used napkin to clean the table and was inspecting every item (cups, forks and knives) to discern what’s used and what’s not! then he immediately started setting the table using the existing ‘unused utensils’. When I asked him to better clean the table, he pulled another napkin! I had to specifically ask him to bring a cleaning detergent and wipe the table clean, then it took some convincing to get him to bring clean and fresh utensils to use. The manager was occupied with another upset couple, when he finally came over I had to explain to him the need to bring us fresh utensils since his staff thought we can use the leftovers from previous guests. Also, it was impossible to get hot fresh brewed coffee. After asking multiple times, the manager finally brought me one that was lukewarm and mostly milk. Very disappointing experience.
