Look, for the price it absolutely is a bargain. The rooms are large and well furnished. Bathrooms are also clean and great water. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
Now the reasons why this place isn't getting 5 stars:
1. Beds: comfortable mattresses and clean... but we asked for a room with a king size bed but all they had were two twins pushed together. It is not the same, especially if you have kids who sleep in the center and that gap opens up and your kid gets stuck between the two beds. It's also not comfortable to sleep on that seam.
2. Understaffed: it is apparent the hotel needs more staff. Housekeeping called us to check on any needs which was a plus but then it took forever for anyone to show up and when they did, it was just one guy who looked like he'd already been through a marathon.
3. Parking access: currently it's a camera based access system where the shutter is closed by default and if you need to enter or leave the parking, the security guard has to walk to the gate and manually open and close it. This is annoying and sometimes very slow. There is also no way for the dollies to actually go to and from the parking to the elevators without the guy having to climb over steps and curbs. Minor work to provide access ramps would make this a lot more professional and I wouldn't have to worry about the dolly falling over while the one guy attempts to manhandle it over the curb.
4. Carpeting: I can't say this is a norm but I will share what we saw in our room. There apparently was a section of carpeting which was cut out and patched for whatever reason. They tried their best to line up the pattern but the patch put in was a completely different shade... not due to the actual color of the carpet but it just looked like a piece had been cut out of a dirty or water damaged roll to create the patch. It really detracted from the overall look.
5. Lobby: when I first drove up I honestly thought the place was closed. The lobby/entrance needs to be better lit or some better signage provided to let first time visitors know the hotel is open. I mean inside it's gorgeous but outside it's gloomy. Shame.
Verdict: value for money is great, but just with a few adjustments this hotel really could become a gem. Still, as it is, you will definitely not be disappointed especially at this price point. Location is good, and the place is reasonably quiet. Worth giving it a try for sure.
