Firstly I’d like to point out from the outset that this place was so cheap in price when I booked - I was amazed that a 5 star classed property could be so cheap in Makkah….I soon discovered that there were reasons what this is.
Firstly, the hotel is HUGE and getting around may require a navigation system if you’re only staying for a day or two.
Secondly, the room we stayed in was relatively tiny as compared to the apparent grandness of the hotel (not a complaint as it was so cheap and we only used it to sleep)
Thirdly, our room lacked basic 5 star facilities such as there was no iron in the room, no hairdryer, no robes, toiletries were barely enough for one bald person etc.
Fourthly, service was generally somewhere between slow and non-existent - maybe due to the size of the property and staff ratio?
The positives:
1) The room was clean, basic and did the job.
2) The shuttle service to the mosque was used by us and was so convenient.
3)The price
4) The price
5) and did I mention how cheap it was?
Tip: Don’t come here expecting a 5 star hotel, it is far from it, but it is a functional hotel (much like a Travelodge in the UK) and if this was advertised as a 3 star hotel I would be giving this hotel a 5 star review for sure.
