I visited this cafe one day for dinner with a friend, the next day for lunch alone. Huge difference in the service which I didn't appreciate. My friend spoke in Arabic which got him royal service showcasing biased service obviouslynot good for their image,we ordered the bateel mezze plate,it was lovely, they gave us complimentary dates and Moroccan tea. The bathroom sadly had a leak so my abaya got wet from the bottom which was a very gross way to end our dinner visit.
The next day going there myself, im not offended that the staff didn't remember me,but the Saudi women staff were far nicer and attentive compared to the foreign staff who were not friendly and impatient. I wanted to sit outside to smoke but they didn't want to put an effort to open the umbrellas to shield from sunlight so they told me outside was not possible and then ignored me. After a good 30 minutes of sitting and waiting for anyone to take my order, just before I gave up and almost left, the female staff tended to me and I ordered a pistachio and strawberry dessert, which was gorgeously scrumptious, an asparagus soup plus the chicken club sandwich, ridiculously overpriced but the soup was an enormous portion and was deliciously fresh in taste. The chicken club.....not so good,I felt ripped off by seeing wilted lettuce on it and my avocados were brown. I was too exhausted to bother complaining about it so I had them pack up the rest for take away. I paid and left without anyone saying bye or thank you despite there not being many customers, literally two people seated and two at the dates counter, I don't think I will go back there, sadly unless I have a male Arabic speaking friend accompanying me. ?
