Se llama Rainbow Rock porque parece un arco o un arcoíris con dos nubes. Cerca de Rainbow Rock también hay otras formaciones rocosas que los turistas pueden visitar, como las Dancing Rocks, que son dos grandes pilares de roca que parecen estar bailando juntos.

Toda la región de Al'Ula tiene poca contaminación lumínica, lo que convierte a Rainbow Rock en un lugar ideal para acampar y observar las estrellas. Los visitantes también pueden buscar diamantes semipreciosos del desierto que a menudo se encuentran en el sitio. Rainbow Rock o The Arch es un arco de arenisca que se encuentra a 90 minutos del pueblo de Al'Ula. El camino hacia el sitio en el desierto no está bien pavimentado y se recomienda un 4x4 para llegar allí. El viaje lleno de baches también lo hace más adecuado para turistas que visitan en grupos en lugar de familias. An amazing natural arch formed in the sandstone in Al Ula. While the arc itself would be more challenging to climb, another rock behind it is the perfect place to take photos from. It requires a 4 wheel drive to get to. I recommend a local driver who knows the way.

I tried to go to the place but got stuck in the sand. Difficult terrain and decided to turn back.

Absolutely a must. The Rick is spectacular, and though getting to it from the main road will require a 4wd (or at least a car with higher ground clearance) you're rewarded with a spectacular site. To get there, turn off the road before the big telecom pole and follow the rugged road. If you make it to the camel racing site you've gone too far (trust me, learned the hard way). We went in July so it was mad hot, but there is shade behind the rock (depending on the time of day), and if you're lucky like us you meet friendly locals who are great hosts. We also went at night and, despite the full moon (or maybe because of it) it was a very different place. Definitely drive the 45 mins outside of Al Ula. Worth every mile.

This natural rock arc is amazing! You should visit this place when you are in Al Ula. Not yet famous but soon it will be known and popular place as an alternative to the elephant rock which now need to be booked and paid. Among this rainbow rock is the fish rock and the big little brother rock as i may say. These rocks in unique formation are situated in the same radius close to each other around 500 square meters apart.
