Crowne Plaza Madinah

I did write a review previously which I have deleted now. First of all i was not expecting that the Front manager will read the previous review and will call me to sort thing out for me. Mr Ahmed Asehri ( appologies if spelling is wrong) called me straight away and litreally within an hour or two after the call he sorted out the rooms. Gave me better rooms which are really good and value for money and room service is very good as well. Rooms are very good Alhumdolillah. It really feels very comfortable. Location is like 3 mins walk Room service is soo much better. I would really like to thank you to Mr Ahmed for sorting this out.

There is no way I could give it a 5* rating. the rooms are small, the ac doesn’t work properly and many more issues. The location is one of the best but other services I had to compromise. overall not up to the mark.

Breakfast was good, the rest urgently needs an upgrade. Shuttle service should be more efficient and constant. Front desk service poor. Rooms need re vamp and spring cleaning. House keeping service very inconsistent. We had to plead and eventually get angry before they would come to clean up. The room cleaning took a maximum of 5 minutes. Terrible standard. Especially with ihg promise of cleanliness.

In overall, I love this hotel. However, in the day I checked-in, I had to wait for 2.5 hours to get my room ready. Another things that I noted: 1. the water faucet in my room is broken, cannot be switched to cool water 2. The housekeeping placed the soap in the wrong place, which is sink The room is clean and lux. I liked it so much, but the check-in process took very long.

- 1. They won't care if someone is critically ill in their hotel at midnight. They don't even have the decency to ask what's wrong. All they said when asked about a doctor was a No. My wife was asked to go out at midnight and get a taxi to find a doctor. It was an emergency. Who would be responsible if something terrible was to happen? They don't care at all just because their hotel is full. 2. The room feels claustrophobic. Old furniture and a weird vibe about the room. 3. Shower was not fixed. Bathtub stopper was not working 4. Kettle was not working 5. Bathroom door and furniture door was very difficult to open. 6. A simple glass of ice took 40 mins to be delivered to the room. 7. Very rude staff at the reception. 8. One out of 4 times they will pick up your call when you call the reception. And you'll have to call at least thrice to get things done. 9. We had an early check in which the hotel approved. But still took them 1 hour to provide us the room, 10. We had booked a standard room with a double bed but upon requesting also they gave us 2 single beds. 11. The carpet stinks and looks like it has been there for ages! Pro Tip: if you don't speak Arabic this is not the place for you. They only entertain Arabic speakers.
