A 3 night stay, moved here from Karim Hotel which is not far away and was a fabulous stay but has limited services so I very reluctantly cut my stay there short and moved to Violet Hotel to access services such as breakfast, laundry, kids club and shuttle bus to Haram. Sadly practically every member of staff I encountered from the concierge, to receptionist at check-in, the breakfast reception and staff, kids club reception were incredibly rude, unwelcoming and unhelpful. The reception staff would rather use their mobile phones than assist guests at reception or simply exclaim they do not speak English. A hotel that has staff with no manners or courtesy to welcome their guests is not where I want to stay. On the plus side the bell boy and room service was excellent and delivered with courtesy so thank you to them and I was able to check in an hour early. Be mindful that items like hand towels, shower mat and/slippers are not provided as standard (the bathroom gets wet due to having no shower door) which is odd for a hotel of this standard. Shower room does not facilitate hair washing or children. You just have one shower head and a tap. Breakfast is abundant but caters to local taste with little to no continental breakfast options. Sadly I will not return, predominantly due to the poor attitude and welcome from majority of staff. I am inclined to return to Karim hotel to finish my stay in Makkah before flying back to the UK so I can leave with a pleasant experience. Finally I hope staff are paid appropriately and are not being overworked.
