Tarout Fortは、サウジアラビアのアルカティフにある島の中心にある小さな歴史的な城です。城のふもとは紀元前5000年にまでさかのぼります。砦が位置する島（タロウ島）には、他にも多くの史跡があります。
歴史
城はもともとメソポタミアの女神の崇拝に捧げられていました。一部の歴史家は、砦はポルトガルがペルシャ湾に侵攻した16世紀に建設され、防衛拠点として機能したと信じています。その後、ポルトガル人が去ると、城は廃墟になりました。メソポタミアの彫像とともに、多くの碑文も城で発見されています。
構造と景観
砦は島で最も高い地点である丘の上にあります。 4つの円錐形の塔がありました。しかし、そのうちの1つは戦闘中に破壊されました。要塞は、石膏、海泥、フォーロッシュの岩でできた広い壁に囲まれています。砦はヤシの木、古い保存された家、そして狭い通りに囲まれています。島の人々の主な水源であった「AyyinAloudda」（古い泉）という名前の泉も城の横にあります。夜になると、建物は周囲に設置されたライトで照らされます。
一部のダイナーも島の近くにあります。タラウト砦は夕方に観光客のために開かれ、観光客は城の周りを自由に歩き回って写真を撮ることができます。

Very old and full of history. I recommend everyone to visit.
There is a museum, restaurant and an antique shop.

It was closed due to maintainance however we haven't seen anybody working . The place around needs to be worked on property if it wants to be a tourist attraction as it looks poorly ATM .
