Tarout Fort 是一座历史悠久的小型城堡，位于沙特阿拉伯 Al Qatif 的一个岛屿的中心。城堡的基地可以追溯到公元前 5000 年。堡垒所在的岛屿（塔劳特岛）也有许多其他历史遗迹。
历史
这座城堡最初是供奉美索不达米亚女神的。一些历史学家认为，这座堡垒建于 16 世纪葡萄牙入侵波斯湾期间，作为他们的防御点。后来，一旦葡萄牙人离开，城堡就成了废墟。在城堡中还发现了许多铭文以及美索不达米亚雕像。
结构与景观
堡垒位于山上，是岛上的最高点。它有四个锥形塔；然而，其中一个在战斗中被摧毁。防御工事周围环绕着一堵由石膏、海泥和 Fourosh 岩石制成的宽墙。堡垒周围环绕着棕榈树、保存完好的古老房屋和狭窄的街道。城堡旁还有一口泉水，名为“Ayyin Aloudda”（旧泉），是岛上居民的主要水源。到了晚上，该结构被安装在它周围的灯照亮。
一些食客也位于岛上附近。 Tarout Fort在晚上对游客开放，游客可以在城堡周围自由漫步并拍照。

Very old and full of history. I recommend everyone to visit.
There is a museum, restaurant and an antique shop.

It was closed due to maintainance however we haven't seen anybody working . The place around needs to be worked on property if it wants to be a tourist attraction as it looks poorly ATM .
