We went with high expectations based on the reviews and self description.
The good things first, the food is great. Bread is fantastic, homemade, and very fresh.
Fish appetizer and lobster appetizer were delicious.
Braised ribs just a tiny bit on the sweet side, but super tender and nicely combined with the potato mash.
Now to the not so good:
- at a place priced like this I expect above average service. That’s not what we got. Twice the waiter been at our table with a clearly empty water bottle sitting there and not asking if we want more, and running away unresponsive when we wanted to order more.
- random staff checking in during our meal is disruptive and strange
- cutlery is thrown on the table and dishes served all over the place, not up to a standard I’d expect.
- the atmosphere (aside of the surroundings outside the building) is the biggest letdown. Fake plastic plants that are falling over and breaking everywhere, cheap garden furniture on the patio, cracking tiles on the floor, that is absolutely not up to the standard this place is trying to sell.
In essence, if you sell high class, also deliver, all of it.
