I've stayed in several Intercontinental hotels around the world and this one has been the worst experience of them. When we were checking in, the woman at the front desk was rude and told us breakfast wasn't included even though our reservation clearly said it is. We showed it to her and she said "fine I can add it" as if she's doing us a favor. Upon reserving the room a week prior, we paid for a Classic King non-smoking room. She said that we have a cabana room by the pool. We had no idea what that meant so we followed them to the room only to find the most comical hotel room I've ever seen. The level of this room was equal to a motel in America. It was also clearly a smoking room. At this point I cannot believe I'm in an intercontinental hotel. We called the front desk and told them this room is no where near what we paid for. They were nice and immediately got us the room we paid for, which we appreciated. The bathroom in our actual room smelled like sewage. This was the last part of our trip in Saudi and we booked this hotel because we trust intercontinental to be a place where we can feel the most comfortable, but unfortunately this wasn't the case. All other public parts of the hotel were immaculate and the food was great as expected. Overall I was disappointed in my stay here and I would not return.

A good experience, people shouldn’t waste food. They should put in the plate only the quantity they can eat. They can go to the food counter again but taking too much at one time and then leaving a bulk of it uneaten doesn’t look nice. Service inside the restaurant was excellent. Cleanliness and atmosphere of intercontinental commendable.

It was my first time in Riyadh and stay at the Intercontinental exceeded my expectations. Lobby is beautiful, with a nice coffee place that also serves food during the whole day. We arrived early in the morning and our room was ready, which was a very nice touch, especially that we have not messaged the hotel before. Fantastic customer service from Reem Al Sweed, who greeted us in the hotel and also recommended nice places to see in the city. Room was comfortable with everything you might need during business trip. Breakfast was great, beautifully presented and delicious. I would definitely recommend this place for a business trip and I will be coming back on regular basis.

I did not stay in the hotel but I tried to book a table in the alnakheel restaurant for 10 people. I called multiple times with no help from any of the employees. I left my phone number and no one ever got back to me. Finally a young lady named Jaisie was able to help me make the reservation. So I would like to praise her but also it should not be that difficult to make simple request.

Used to be my favorite hotel in Riyadh since 2008. On 1st of November I arrived with a confirmed booking, they told me: “sorry the hotel is overbooked”! Imagine traveling for a long distance and then all your arrangements are disrupted because the hotel decided not to inform you using the basic communication channels (phone, email..)! It was just a horrible experience for a long loyal IHG member but not anymore
