جسر الملك فهد (جسر الملك فهد) عبارة عن سلسلة من الجسور يبلغ طولها 15 ميلاً وتربط المملكة العربية السعودية والبحرين عبر الخليج العربي. تم تصور فكرة بناء هذا الجسر خلال الخمسينيات من القرن الماضي لتحسين الروابط الاجتماعية والثقافية بين المملكة العربية السعودية والبحرين. اكتمل بناء الجسر في عام 1986.

الهيكل والمناظر الطبيعية

ترتكز الجسور الخمسة لهذا الجسر على أكثر من 500 برج خرساني. يبدو الجسر مستقبليًا بسدوده السبعة في المياه الضحلة للخليج. يُطلق على أحد هذه السدود اسم Middle Island أو Passport Island ، وهي أيضًا أكبرها جميعًا. تم تحويلها إلى جزيرة اصطناعية بها مرافق الجمارك والهجرة ومسجد وحدائق ومطاعم. تحتوي هذه الجزيرة أيضًا على محطة حدودية بها منفذ ماكدونالدز على كل جانب.

السفر عبر الجسر

بسبب COVID-19 ، تم إغلاق الجسر مؤقتًا في مارس 2020 للسلامة العامة. ومع ذلك ، فقد أعيد فتحه في 17 مايو 2021 ؛ يجب على الناس اتباع بروتوكولات صارمة من أجل السفر على هذا الجسر.

القيادة عبر الجسر طريقة رائعة للسفر إلى البحرين أو المملكة العربية السعودية من أي من البلدين ، خاصة أثناء غروب الشمس وشروقها. يوفر الجسر تجربة السفر عبر البحر دون الحاجة إلى الصعود إلى السفينة أو المرور بأي دوار بحر مروع.

I recently travelled. The facilities and staff at Saudi side are very good and efficient, how ever the border staff at Bahrain side specially at bahrain exit for KSA are very arrogant and non cooperative. So i want to ask if some Bahraini authority is listening that the country that are having tourism as their one of mainstream economic source, they should remove all arrogant people from immigration counters.

This bridge is one of the brilliant masterpiece built in 1986 , and the name was kept as a token of respect in name of King Fahd bin Abdul Aziz (then) by then prime minister of bahrain Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa. The bridge is called KING FAHAD CAUSEWAY. The Border Station was designed as two connected islands,with the west side designated as Saudi Arabian and the east as Bahraini. The Toll fees is Sar: 25/- as of 2023. Car insurance at Bahrain is around Sar: 42/-. we cant stop or park the var in between the borders. The best part is knowing that you are driving over a Deep ocean. The Dark color of water and the waves ? around the bridge gives some really beautiful and amazing views around.

The bridge itself is old. The process of passing through could benefit from major improvements. First, to replace the toll counters by a payment machine instead of a person (the employees at the Toll are almost always on their phone chatting with their friends). Second, replace the Saudi customs employees with educated people capable of behaving with good manners. Third, cancel the practice of handing out useless receipt papers at the kiosks (this is a practice done by the Saudi’s and not Bahraini’s).
