I really wanted to go, as I have never tried Usbeck food before. The restaurant is quite cute, bright and colorful, with a choice of traditional seating, or table and chairs. We started with a mixed starter, of dumplings called "manti", and pastry pasties called "samsa", which were so delicious, and we ate this with pickle. It came with "dolma", rice filled Vine leaves, which were not good. They were served very hot, and the leaves on the outside had become very chewy and leathery, the rice inside was undercooked and crunchy (chewy not juicy,). We sent this back. (Maybe it's supposed to be like this?)
The "chickvara" really was the highlight it was just delicious. Little tiny pasta dumplings in a slightly sweet tomato sauce, with sour cream.....I wish we had ordered more.
Finally, beef with rice. It was a tasty dish, simple and enjoyable...not spectacular.
The service was great -but we were the only people there!!
