It you don't mind living in dirt and mold, then go for it. For me personally it kind of ruined my umrah experience and I wished I had paid a little more for something half decent. Our room was disgusting, one leg on the bed was missing making it unstable, the carpet was filthy, there was mold on the furniture and the bathroom was horrendous. The hotel literally located in a damp dirty alleyway.

Nada Al deaafa is a 3 star hotel in Makkah. It's about 180m from Haram. If you are looking for a competitive priced hotel at close proximity to Haram, this would certainly be one of the best options to consider. It has all the basic things in the room. Rooms offer free Wi-Fi, flat screen TV’s and mini fridge as well as tea making.
