Although the taste is decent, however the place is overrated in terms of food preparation and service. Not to mention, it is pricy for what is being served. I paid SR394 for a salad, sweet potato fries, Chilli con Queso, Mushroom Risotto and short ribs and a water. Mind you that most of the dishes, except for the short ribs are appetizers.
The Food:
- By far the best dish was the short ribs. The meat was fall off the bone tender, although the BBQ sauce tasted non-home made.
- Chips were very greasy
- The cheese that was used with the chips tasted fake (processed) - see picture
- Risotto was pre-made, as it only took a few minutes to prepare
- Sweet potatoes tasted like something came out of the freezer section from a super market
- Mexican Beans salad had nothing to do with Mexico, plus the Beans from the salad were canned and not fresh.
Now with the service:
- Very slow to get the orders taken, although we were the third table within the entire restaurant
- Only one staff member who was taking the order for the entire ground floor
- My table’s order was taken incorrectly, as one dish was missing.
- I was charged for two Chilli Con Quesos and I only got one. Although this mistake was realized after I paid by the restaurant staff, they couldn’t give me a refund saying that since I paid with the card, I had two options, either wait for the second order that I didn’t order in the first place, or come back again and remind them that they over charged me.
One final note about COVID. I visited the restaurant and there was no social distancing. All the tables on the ground floor was occupied, knowing that there is a second floor empty with no one dining there, due to shortage of staff or what not.
From my side and it is my own opinion, I will not revisit the Dining & Co Again.
