We visited in mid-April. We stayed in a premium cabin and it did not disappoint. It had everything we needed. It’s a really nice set up. The view of Monument Valley was absolutely amazing right from our porch. Sunset and sunrise you should not miss as both are so gorgeous! The stars at night were wonderful from our porch as well. It was also a 20min drive to Forrest Gump Hill where we saw even more stars! Indescribably beautiful. Hiking the Wildcat Trail was extremely enjoyable. The trail was clean, well marked and had places to rest. We are thankful to the Navajo for sharing this with us. Worth every penny. Checking-in was slightly chaotic as you also enter in the same area where tourists are paying for the scenic drive. The entrance fee was credit card only the day we entered and if staying in the cabins you need to check-in at the campground, not the hotel. Limited vegetarian/vegan options so plan in advance. The souvenir shop is reasonably priced. Everything at the hotel was credit card only while we were there. The jewelry and artwork portion is very expensive, but it is handmade crafts and makes sense. We wish we would have known ahead of time and could have budgeted to spend more to support the artists. We hope to visit again someday.

As its name suggests this hotel brings in the guests for one reason alone - the jaw dropping views. Unfortunately, it seems management has decided guests will be so happy with their views that food quality and customer service aren’t things they need to worry about. The breakfast was ordinary at best. One needed a hammer to get through the rock hard pancakes, and all three large warming trays were empty so I’m not entirely sure what heated options I missed out on. We were there at 9.20am, well before breakfast hours closed at 10.00am. The urn was also empty at 9.45am, and when a guest asked for it to be filled, the staff member looked at her watch, sighed, and reluctantly agreed to do so. On the positive side, the rooms are very well sized (we stayed in a queen double on the second floor), and generously appointed. The microwave and fridge were handy, as was the coffee maker. And then there’s the views. The hotel has been cleverly designed to take full advantage of the views on offer, with the lobby, restaurant and trading post all offering spectacular vistas. An important note: although the hotel address is Arizona, the hotel operates on Utah time (at the time of visit Mountain Daylight Savings). Would I stay here again? Yes. Pay for the views and great rooms, but don’t eat here if you can help it. We grabbed food at Goulding’s and it was pretty decent. And that microwave affords plenty of heat and eat opportunities if you want to save a few pennies!

Come here for the views and the ambiance. We loved sitting on our balcony and enjoying the view of Monument Valley. Truly one of the best hotel views I have ever had. Also loved the Mesa Rim Trail in the evening when we arrived…beautiful short hike and fun to do just around sunset. The food was marginal at best, although what we ate was pretty limited (kids meals for the kids as the adults had leftovers from lunch). Grilled cheese, chicken tenders, and french fries were lacking flavor and salt. Definitely a case of it being the only game in town for food so you can’t be too picky. But the view for dinner, also amazing. Would I stay here again? Yes. Have I had nicer accommodations for the price point? Yes. The view at The View makes it worth it though, if you value a view.

Its all about the location and it is undeniably outstanding. The room was comfortable clean and well appointed. Service was polite and efficient although a little detached. What stops this being a 5 star experience is the restaurant which had low quality food at high prices. The breakfast was inadequate. I can recommend the hotel but find another place to eat.

This is not a national park just a heads up. The positive! This is the place to stay to enjoy the valley. Make sure you check in before sunset to enjoy the valley and the sunrise is amazing coming up over the valley in the morning. The negative ! I have stayed here a couple times now and it seems to be getting more nickel and dime you! The breakfast went from being a nice warm and fresh to a motel 6 grab and go stale bread, and pop tarts. Then to top it off you’re paying about $300 a night (Saturday) and you don’t get access to the park! They want you to drive back down the hill and get in line to pay $8 a person to enter. Which is fine but come on you can’t purchase at the front desk! I would recommend you stay for one night and move on to another location It only take one day to experience the valley.
