In my pursuit of spiritual serenity via an Umrah pilgrimage, I encountered an establishment that, instead of providing the sanctity expected, inundated me with a deluge of vexations. A fortnight prior to my anticipated arrival, the to-be 'custodians of chaos' conveyed their inability to extend hospitality, citing an audacious "evacuation order." A cascade of inconvenience ensued as they proposed alternatives akin to lodgings barely acceptable to cattle and stationed at a distance disconcertingly far from the Haram.
Despite the vastly evident inferiority of their suggested alternative hell-holes, they brazenly positioned this proposition as a "complimentary upgrade," as though their presumption of benevolence should be received with unquestioning gratitude. Requesting a refund, a reasonable request one might assume, elicited an initial agreement. Alas, transparency regarding the timing of this proved as elusive as a mirage. Subsequently securing an alternative abode, my satisfaction was fleeting as the establishment continued its streak of horror by rescinding its refund commitment.
When I elucidated the no cancellation policy of my secured alternative, they affirmed that I should to annul my newly secured arrangements. A dispute lodged with my bank ensued, much to the evident irritation of the establishment, prompting a barrage of futile appeals for a retraction. Their disingenuous plea, as if my brain had recently been bestowed upon me, demonstrated a clear disregard for customer intelligence, or any intelligence whatsoever for that matter.
This regrettable saga leaves me contemplating the possibility of a dubious scheme to redirect guests towards affiliated hotels to secure more bookings. Never before have I witnessed such a spectacle of managerial ineptitude. In summation, my earnest advice is to avoid any entanglements with these architects of anarchy, unless, of course, one harbours an inexplicable fondness for migraines.
