My experience has been with difficulties and a no communication from the hotel, which has left me feeling deceived and stranded.
I recently booked a stay, only to encounter a series of challenges that left me deeply disappointed and concerned. Despite my and Expedia efforts to contact the hotel regarding an urgent matter, there was no communication from them which has been both alarming and frustrating.
Upon realizing that I would be unable to arrive due to Hajj restrictions on my visa, I promptly reached out to the hotel seeking assistance and a refund. However, I was not informed of any such restrictions by the hotel at the time of booking. This critical oversight felt deceptive and left me in a difficult situation. Despite my persistent attempts to communicate with the hotel for over 48 hours, I have yet to receive a response.
As a young traveler, stranded alone in a foreign country and facing extreme stress, the lack of support and communication from the hotel has exacerbated my situation. The absence of any prior notification regarding the visa restrictions, which prevent me from entering Makkah, indicates a severe lapse in customer service and potentially violates consumer protection laws. Why am I being issued and charged a booking when they have my visa information and are aware that I am not eligible to even enter the city? The hotel's failure to communicate and resolve this issue in a timely manner is not only unprofessional but also suggests ill intent.
In dire need of a refund to secure alternative accommodation, I have been left in an extremely vulnerable position. The hotel's failure to deliver any form of communication or support has been disheartening and had significantly impacted my travel plans and financial situation
A staff member at the hotel had replied to an email, stating that only expedia can offer a refund, this is a complete lie, the refund is at the hotels discretion, they have the the choice and the ability to refund, this was also told to me by expedia, the hotel had the authority, but they wanted to be disingenuous. Why did they hotel reply via email and lie, they did not answer any calls from me or expedia and gave no effort of communication, this shows ill intent.
UPDATE: They have not given me any refund. They have robbed me. Stay away from this awful hotel with awful staff and service.
