I was craving for some pasta and decided to try this restaurant. Ordered the so called "Mexican Pasta" . It was straight up junk.
Only 3 ingredients were used: Apples, Penne Pasta, and olives topped off with some cheese.
Yes that's correct!!!! Apples!!!!!!
There were no vegetables, and no meat in the pasta. Who uses apples in pasta is beyond my understanding.
The pasta sauce was ultra disappointing too, it tasted like diluted packaged tomato sauce that could be found in any of the supermarkets.
I don't know who the chef is or in where did he learn his culinary skills but this was the most disappointing pasta I ever tasted (couldn't complete it) . The chef should once in a while completely eat an entire portion of this dish exactly how it's made before serving to customers.
To top it off they served rotis and raita with it. Sure this is an Indian/Pakistani restaurant but any amateur chef knows roti raita and pasta doesn't go together. A customer shouldn't have to tell a restaurant about this. The only thing that came out good were the rotis. Even raita did not have sufficient salt in it.
When I confronted the front cashier about who puts apples in pasta , his reply was "this is the recipe, this is how it's made , and no other restaurant serves this. "
Yeah, that's right no other restaurant should serve this kind of mediocre dish, and calling it Mexican pasta when there's nothing Mexican about it.
Also a thing to note, there's no harm in charging a premium price (of SR 25+taxes extra) for a bowl of pasta when the food is premium.
Usually I don't write negative reviews regardless of how the food is served, but this "Mexican Pasta" compelled me in writing one.
