Yanbu itself has… well… not much to see…. the beach is nice, but not wow, so generally not much to go with. The hotel had even less to offer. We got a junior suite upgrade due to my Accor status.m, but:
- room was super dirty, and i cleaned the floor twice (hotel then claimed it was not dirty, but the coloring of the floor that came off… riiight)
- the room smelled super toxic, we later found out that they painted to room recently. why put guest in a room that still smells like poison, when your hotel is half empty?!?
- we then managed to change to a different room, and went to bed. at like 11pm they called the room, and already at first pickup i told them we are sleeping and they should not bother us. they called back 2 more times, till i unplugged all the phones. few minutes later someone knocked at the door, trying to bring a fruit basket…. after i already told them 3 times not to bother us and that we are sleeping. don’t even know what to say anymore…
at least they refunded the night, so besides a huge headache from the paint smell, being woken up several times in the middle of the night we at least had no “costs”
