I checked in at the hotel on March 30th at DoubleTree by Hilton Riyadh Financial District Hotel & Suites, everything was smooth until we went to sleep, at 2:00 am i woke up suddenly because of loud persistent knocking on the door, I didn’t answer at first I thought it was in the next room, when it didn’t stop I got up to see that it was a housekeeper knocking our door, I ignored it and then tried calling every number I could find on the phone to know what was that for, no one was answering for about 10 minutes, note that I had al locks on, the ‘do not disturb sign’ was on since around 5 pm, and as per my knowledge and experiences, the door is never knocked when you have the sign even if you have recently ordered something, they always call on the phone to check that you still would like to receive whatever you have asked for, after 15 minutes I called again, the receptionist answered saying he’ll investigate and call back, which he didn’t after about 15 minutes, I called again several times, after a while the duty manager called to apologize, he said the housekeeper was claiming that we have requested cleaning, I might have while dreaming! He assured me that it will make sure it never happens again and offered a late checkout, however I woke up the next morning still disturbed I went to the reception to get water because I didn’t want anyone to come near the room, I asked to speak to the duty manager, the receptionist went in, disappeared for a while, I got so tired of standing and went to sit a bit far, after a while, she came out when she saw me she rushed back in, so this is not my first pleasant experience with Hilton, I will do my best to make sure it is the last, I expect big international hotel chains to provide extensive training to their staff on how to treat customers and react in such situations.
