Loved our room. Historic but adapted nicely for today's travelers. Bathroom was huge, clean and very modern. Friendly, nice innkeeper, and Austin (mixologist in the Mermaid Bar) was especially good at his job and very entertaining.

Arrived at Florida House 2:15pm for brunch after church on good referral from long time resident. I was refused by two waitresses even though restaurant
advertises 3pm close. Bad move...
as I always leave great tips. I ended up at delicious friendly Cafe Karibo on 3rd Ave., Fernandina Beach and enjoyed hot meal on chilly Sunday. The cool staff made brunch even more fun! The check for one totalled $27, tip $12. Note: will not allow my family guests to book stay at Florida House because of rude experience. Sad really. ?
