Khaybar Fort is located near the city of Khaybar in Saudi Arabia and is just a two hours’ drive away from Medina. The Fort is famous for the historical battle of Khaybar that took place here in 629 AD. he Khaybar Fort has a significant place in Islamic history as it is where the jews barricaded themselves during the famous battle of Khaybar. Muslims marched on the Fort and were able to force a surrender from the jews, which marked the end of the famous battle. The Fort is located on a hill and is surrounded by palm trees. The ruins of the Fort are a mixture of black stone (basalt) and mud. ALERT: Now The Khyber port site has been closed for tourist (Reason: Old Khaybar is closed in Saudi Arabia's efforts to clean and update the location for future tourism). Tourists are not allowed to go deep into the city, but they can still see the remains from a distance. However, the city has been closed down recently due to ongoing maintenance.

Security guard ? subhan Allah they must need training how to deal with visitors. We did not even tried to enter at restricted place , just tried to capture picture and he started shouting and threatening

Salam to All, Last month I visited the place. When we reached the fort the security team stopped us and misbehaved badly. I recommend all who are making trips to visit this place, be safe yourself from the security guards. Because they don't have sense of how to deal with visitors. It was my first bad experience to visit Khyber fort. I have a suggestion to the Khyber fort management to please appoint good and well mannered security to prevent any future humiliation by security guards to the visitors.

The fort was built on a hilltop, and was surrounded by a wall. The wall was made of mudbrick, and was about 10 meters (33 ft) thick. The fort had several towers, and was well-defended. The fort was used by the Jewish tribes of Khaybar as a stronghold during the early years of Islam.

Please do not go. We just are on our way back. SECURITY OFFICERS did not allowed!!! So DO NOT come until updated for few years. NO PHOTOS TO PROVE because there were SECURITY officers all around. Note: There is a fine if you go.
