Al Ulaの東、Hejaz の考古学的遺跡である Hegra の中心部に位置する Jabal Ithlib は、輝かしい自然の山であり、文化的な場所でもあります。歴史的には、ネゲブ砂漠からの古代アラビア遊牧民であったナバテア人の崇拝の場所でした。

Jabal Ithlib の最大の魅力は、ダイニング エリアまたはトリクリニウムのように見える山の岩に刻まれた大きな部屋である「Diwan」です。王室の晩餐会や政治会議などの集まりのための重要な部屋であったと歴史的に信じられており、おそらく外部または一般のオブザーバーのために設計されたオープンフロントもあります.それとは別に、山の文化的ルーツと驚異的な景観は、世界中から観光客を引き付けるものです.
山には、ディワンの左側にあるシク運河の通路からアクセスできます。この運河を過ぎると、古代の宗教的慣習と関係があるかもしれない多くの彫刻や碑文がある山の中央エリアになります。山脈の中央を流れる水路もあり、自然の水溜りにつながり、最終的に貯水池につながります。これは、過去の教訓を学ぶことができるもう 1 つのサイトです。

We missed the bus 15mins late at the Tantora Winter Park.
We ended up going to the location using our own private vehicles yet we were’t allowed to enter the place.
I highly recommend to catch the schedule half an hour ahead of time. They are very strict with the rules. Once the tour has begun, there is no way for them to allow you to enter.
We just only took photos at the entrance of this tour.

Al Ula shares a good view of a canyon and rock formations in a desert. It is amazing to see and imagine just how did these rocky mountains were formed. One of them is the elephant rock. The surrounding place also shares a lot of good view. Al ula is a must visit.

The rock formation is one of a kind and never to be seen elsewhere.
It is accessible by any car, not necessarily requiring 4x4.
Government has created free parking slots, public toilets.
Entrance is free.
Good lighting is there in the night time. But it is also a little cold due to open mountain.
Snacks are available on site. No restaurants though.
A must see place once.
