InterContinental Al Khobar

My stay at Intercontinental Hotel Khobar was not that great. Waited six hours for check-in with no clear communication about the time it gets ready. Staff responses were unhelpful, and the atmosphere was chaotic with angry and shouting guests at the reception. The lack of customer service was further evident during dinner the following day, where on of the staff members made snide remark about the delay, adding insult to injury. The Food was Amazing and Tasty. Making it a memorable one. Will definitely recommend high. Overall, my experience at this property was not satisfactory, and I advise to reconsider it for a holiday destination.

Staff in the dining hall and café are very friendly and helpful. Despite having a non-smoking room, on one day during my stay the whole room smelled as if someone had been smoking (potentially due to the air circulation system). No action was taken upon notifying the staff.

I've been staying at InterContinental Khobar for years and it saddens me to see their quality decline. My room wasn't up to their cleanliness standard as the sheets were stained and the carpet was dirty. I was disappointed not to find the usual room toiletries (Comb, nail file, sewing kit) and a notepad with a pen. The Snack bar was completely empty as well. COVID is not an excuse as it's over now. Even The TV channel list doesn't have OSN channels anymore. The room service menu needs a serious upgrade in selection and food quality. At least the service is still excellent.

The hotel itself it's very nice and the staff are very attentive, respectful and nice. We got upgraded to a better suit when we explained that we were going with our kids (that was a plus) the suit was huge and we felt very comfortable in it. We found very nice staff like Sangheet who was very happy to help us all the time. Everyone was happy to talk to the kids and made them feel welcomed. There were a few disappointments, the pool was very dirty plus as a woman you are not allowed to hang around in the pool. At least that what the rules are. Also, the dinners were not great, a bit slow to be served and no much variety. On the other hand the breakfasts were very nice, a lot of different choices and fresh stuff. Overall our stay there was pleasant.
