Velvet Hotel Jeddah

The receptionists are so unprofessional. They are either not well trained or they themselves have negative attitudes. They committed mistakes and tried to blame me as a client. They talk sooo rudly. Even one of the talked in a threatening language. I did not feel safe at all. I do not recommend this hotel at all. The only solution is either to train the receptionists to have good manners with clients or to change them.

Only been here for 2 hours and 49 minutes and I am extermly disappointed with our stay at the hotel. Upon arrival we were told the king delux room that we paid for was not available. When we did not budge they gave us the room which we had initially booked. Then they agreed to give complimentary breakfast for +1 guest and later called to say no you have to pay 40SR. An additional towel was requested, the towel arrived after more than an hour and that too after chasing and reminding them. To make matters worse our room door does not auto lock so dinner is delayed as the engineer can't fix it.

Update regarding my second stay in this hotel: I booked a Double room but upon check-in, I was told that the room is no longer available. They claimed that I am checking-in late although I already informed them that I will be checking-in between 11 pm and 12 am. They forced me to stay in a bigger room and to pay the difference in price. I assume that an upgrade should be free as it was their issue. Clean hotel in a good location. I requested a large bed but was given two twins. Still not a big issue. WiFi was not working. Breakfast was basic but good!!

Very bad experience, you can imagine to ask for towels, the receptionist informed sorry we don't have towels, I'm strongly didn't recommend such hotel for any one to stay.

Unfortunately I have to revise my 3 stars review to one after being in the hotel for 5 days. Hotel location and price are excellent. Also it’s clean. Service in the other hand is terrible. I normally do not require room cleaning but here I needed them once just to empty trash and change the towels once. Two days in a row with the sign to make the room p, they simply ignored. Then I left a message at the reception last day, aging simple ignorance, Yet sometimes you hear room vacuuming and cleaning around midnight which is very noisy. Things to improve: general maintenance, safe in the room not working, and I hope one day windows can be open even slight bit so AC is not required all the time. Try to avoid south side rooms as the view is blocked by new building (just meters away)
