Tarout Fort 是一座历史悠久的小型城堡，位于沙特阿拉伯 Al Qatif 的一个岛屿的中心。城堡的基地可以追溯到公元前 5000 年。堡垒所在的岛屿（塔劳特岛）也有许多其他历史遗迹。
历史
这座城堡最初是供奉美索不达米亚女神的。一些历史学家认为，这座堡垒建于 16 世纪葡萄牙入侵波斯湾期间，作为他们的防御点。后来，一旦葡萄牙人离开，城堡就成了废墟。在城堡中还发现了许多铭文以及美索不达米亚雕像。
结构与景观
堡垒位于山上，是岛上的最高点。它有四个锥形塔；然而，其中一个在战斗中被摧毁。防御工事周围环绕着一堵由石膏、海泥和 Fourosh 岩石制成的宽墙。堡垒周围环绕着棕榈树、保存完好的古老房屋和狭窄的街道。城堡旁还有一口泉水，名为“Ayyin Aloudda”（旧泉），是岛上居民的主要水源。到了晚上，该结构被安装在它周围的灯照亮。
一些食客也位于岛上附近。 Tarout Fort在晚上对游客开放，游客可以在城堡周围自由漫步并拍照。

Its very small and just the ruins of a castle. I mean I’ll not even call a castle ?
Located in the middle of the city and there is nothing much for the tourist to do here.

We went at dusk and it was closed. Looks nice from the outside and wished we could see the interiors.
