Great place for strolling around, observing the old buildings, watching people and life going on in this traditional neighbourhood.
Some buildings are being restored and maintained while others are in worse condition, providing a good mix and balance.
Shops do not open in the morning and the difference between daytime and nighttime is striking. More activities and people around after sunset, also much light has been installed to creat a very nice ambience during the dark hours which is when I would recommend to visit.

Visit early in the morning,
Morning walk before sunrise will be good..
You will get empty stress all for yourself to walk around and experience the locality and take photographs.
..or early evening, you get the buggies to move around
Evenings are to experience the vibrancy, visit painting stores, cafe and do some shopping.

Great place to go with family or friends!
Lots of things to do from traditional games to others. Do not miss the houses with games inside!
Lots and lots of great food.

We visited it on the last day of the opening the last night in Ramadan. They had great authentic stands. Loved how they preserved the buildings and culture (it’s like you traveled back in time). Tried the VIP parking (it was very near the entrance)

One of the best places to visit in Jeddah.
Extremly organized, with employees directing people and car traffic, cross walking, and bathroom cleaners.
I think most of the bathrooms are Eastern, but there is a Western clean bathroom nearby the white large mosque.
Some stores, or بصطيات, don't sell anything. They're just there for the view. There are a lot of food/drink stores, and an antic place too.
Make sure to bring cash, not all merchants accept card.
The helpers and the stores both want you to leave happy and not miss out on anything. Their hospitality is beyond generous.
